darkness envelopes the landscape.
"hang on, what's going on?!"
"it's not yet time for night!"
amidst the confusion, unforgiving clouds fill the sky
with their impenetrable black mass. completely,
completely blocking the rays of the sun.
the warmth, the light, now a thing of the past.
shrouded in darkness, unnatural darkness,
we all fall victim to confusion, anxiety,
fear.
"this ain't right"

19 hours. dry eyes.
and so with that, my sis departs. the full impact of it yet to come.
i wonder how it'll be.
yesterday was indeed a day of firsts.
interesting day.
take away the random bouts of rain,
leaving just the grey skies.
yesterday's weather would have been close to perfection.
grey skies ahead.

congrats guys. haha 6.15 won the interclass relay for year6
granted there were only 4 classes that ran, we were still quite fast. 51.5 seconds.
thanks to my classmates who cheered for us. appreciate it (:
as usual, it was good to be back at the track.
it wasn't the crowd. it wasn't the atmosphere (if there was any).
but sitting on the track at close to 6 as dusk beckons
feeling a little tired from running.
reminiscent of training. miss those days.
it feels right now that track indeed seems to be my second home.
it was good while it lasted.

a bumpy road lays ahead.
switch on the head lamps my man, we need to see where we're going.
*storm*
hear that? a storm's brewing. we better get a moving.
faster driver faster!
the rain drops are pelting the roof of the car.
water against metal. sounds more like metal on metal.
the noise is insane. it surrounds the entire cabin, threatening to cause a cave-in.
it falls in such sheets that visibility has been greatly reduced.
no wonder we drove straight into the roaring river
oblivious to the sight of the river, bursting at its banks
deaf to the thunderous sound of water rushing as the rain drowned it all
the car sinks to its eternal rusting death.
us?
our lifeless bodies get washed downstream
wrecked beyond recognition. which proves insigificant for
we shall never be found again.

i ran 4x400m for thoburn in sec1. my first year as a thoburn dude.
now it's my last. i ran 4x400m for thoburn once again.
in between those 2 races, i've run a 4x400m.
both times when i passed on the baton, i was second.
thankfully this time we finished second.
relatively happy with my timing of 58.3
considering that i haven't been training.
but i digress. it is time to get my focus back on what truly matters.
if only i could.
if only.

i must say. congratulations to the planning committee for ndp 2009.
i daresay it was arguably the best national day parade thus far (for me).
normally i would totally switch off during the performances bit, only paying attention during the parade. but this time i actually watched it with at least some attention.
the fact that there was a flow to it all, that there was meaning, made it seem so much more relevant.
it's not random performances that seems superfluous.
i guess building it around the pledge was a good idea. kind of gave direction to everything. a vision of sorts.
i like the idea of 8:22pm. it was not evident to me at home but come news5 at 930pm, they showed footage of people actually stopping to say the pledge.
standing still in the middle of a public area. not looking stupid at all as one would should he suddenly stop dead in his tracks. simply because everyone else around was doing the same thing.
standing still. upright and not slouching. right fist clenched and place above the heart.
saying the singapore pledge.
mrt stations, outside a sheng shiong outlet in the heartlands.
too bad i wasn't out around to watch it.
it would have been pretty cool.
for once, national day parade seemed to be an enjoyable event to watch from start to beginning. as usual the parade was what made me sit up.
love the smart uniform. i marvel at their ability to march so well. i guess rehearsals really help. but the impeccable marching is only restricted to the guard of honour contingents i guess.
the supporting military contingents were carrying stuff. guns or something. not the rifles the goh contingent were holding. so they didn't have any arm swing. difficult to see the coordination i guess.
lalala i shall wait until i have enlisted for ns before saying anything else.
this is getting rather dangerous. the way i'm not doing the things i'm supposed to.
i'm walking on a tightrope stretched across a bottomless gorge.
watch me fall.
see my body descend further and further down
as i slowly diminish and disappear from your sight.
my demise.
is but a certainty.

dance foa.
not bad hahaha generally an enjoyable event.
i didn't know jiayi so pro! hahaha so proud of her :D
although i have nothing to do with her proness hahaha oops
well for what it was worth, this evening was good.
a form of respite. a route of escapism.
back to the harsh realities of life now.
what a pity.
