HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY!!!!!

looks like i have to do it later
and i better start on like homework or soemthing like that
cuz i have so much to complete

hm today's core math lesson was quite interesting,
mr ng told us a story instead of teaching,
so cool right?
and the story is what he will tell the j2 students just before they leave for their exams, like A levels
as he says, its to like try to make up for the 2 years of bad education.
yeah right, sir, i think you're a great teacher and you and bad education just don't seem to fit together from my point of view
so anyways, the story is like about freddie, the leaf.
and the story was told to us through a powerpoint presentation
the backgrounds used were pictures,
great pictures
and fitting for the particular segment of the story shown
for each slide contained only a few lines of the story
and bit by bit, the story progresses on
as sir narrated it to us
the whole class listened intently
wondering how the story would develop
laughing at the funny moments
at the leaf daniel and the things about it
and im quite sure almost everyone
was admiring the beautiful pictures
of leaves
occasionally of the tree, and people,
but there was always a leaf in the picture,
these pictures helping us to visualize the story
and so the story goes on
until the end
which ironically ends with "the beginning"
indeed what a ending. one with an impact.
and then sir goes on to explain about the story
about life
it is one lesson, one class period that truly left me with an impact.
indeed what mr ng said rings so true.
wouldn't you think so?
no wonder its not the bad results of this year that affects me most
but instead it was the pain caused by...

at the start of the year i thought it was interesting...
i thought it was gonna be my favourite subject, probably my best
but nooo..its how not what i expected it to be.
the first half of the year study about critical thinking and stuff...
ok la..manageable..but i think lessons could be better
cuz well (cant say, if not i'll be suspended or something like that)
and now we're studying philosophy, and frankly i dont see any point in studying philosophy
and the book we're using to study, is it really studying about philosophy?
or rather studying the life of great philosophers?

the 3 great sages or what not.
wow great.
now i know some things about them, and guess what? my life changes so much!
duh im kidding.
maybe cuz i havent been paying much attention in class...cuz theres nothing to keep me from being distracted
and thus i probably havent learnt much about them
but judging from the blanks we're supposed to fill in...
i dun think philosophy is really what im learning
just things on the philosopher, some quotes or stuff that they said..
and then either write in our own words what they said or just comment on it.
and it seems to me that philosophy isnt really all it is.
the only reason that i can see why ppl think its like whoa, all great and stuff. like if you say something so cheem or whatever, its like whoa! are you a philosopher kind...
its cuz it sounds cheem.
those philosophers seem like a fraud to me.
maybe cuz i dont know them well
but from the quotes in the textbook...
ok only one that i can think of
its like supposed to be something quite philosophical i guess
but looking at it...trying to understand it and finally getting the meaning
its so stupid!!!
its just saying something like "well then, do you ever stop and think of what that means to you" or maybe even "well then, did you stop and tried to know yourself?".
the context is this guy walk past this pillar in some place..and it has "know thyself" on it..so when the philosopher guy..dunno which ask whether this dude saw it..and after he said yes, he asked something like did you stop and dunno what..something about ascertain as to what sort of person you are, or something like that.

i realised i havent been posting a lot...
not quite sure why, maybe i should sit down, stare at the com and see why.
and continue to read all my blog posts...

i love doing that now, its like my new hobby kind of thing...
reading old blog posts just never fails to change the surroundings

o i didnt post about mpp?!
anyways acsi did very well i suppose
won 3 or is it 4 out of the 5 awards thingy they give out for the e forum discussion...
of the 8 speakers acsi had for the debates
6 got special mention awards
and every single speaking member of the government team got special mention awards,
all 4 of them
henry, joshua, gideon and david.
so pro right?
so obviously they won the best government team.
the other 2 speakers came from opposition
adwyn and myself.
yay! quite happy, thought my speech was screwed, o well.
and mr sham was so nice to treat us to macs lunch
i think quite ex...like 16 of us...around there
wah!
and then after that we were like hey sir, money well spent

yay we won we won!
C div rugby is ours...has been ours for the past 10 years
woohoo ACSI ROCKS! =)
too bad they didnt learn the haka...haha
cheering was quite good i must say, i guess the possibility of a holiday drove the student body to cheer that bit louder
but always room for improvement
i long for the day where most of the students are as loud as say a prefect, and can feel the defeaning roar against the core group...
when i asked marcus chua how was the cheering from the core area..
cuz at first i was at the side and it was really quiet save for the student act prefects there
and when the core start a cheer and we echo back, i tell you the prefects were super super loud compared to the mute students there.
so anyways, back to what marcus said...
he said it's loud..and i was like ooo ok
then in the end aiyah its not that loud...
but relative to the normal volume from the passive student body
yeah it is quite loud, so i must say good job.
haha
i just wish things could have been better.
and the match!
haha we led 7-0 at first! scored and converted a try..
then ri scored a try...wah so sad la.
but failed to convert..whee! haha 7-5
then dunno when half time or whatever...
but we scored another try! failed to convert sadly...12-5
and ri scored a try! ah! good thing failed to convert again...12-10
ooo scary. last few minutes got a penalty and scored...15-10
and shortly afterwards like i think 1 min after we scored
game over!!!!
and then the prefects started to run to the field..haha
and can see all the ruggers coming together..hugging...crying..
aw so emo

and because we won, friday is a holiday
which sucks
cuz friday is already the shortest day in the week...
so stupid la.
and worse, i already got moot parliament programme (mpp)
which means i originally pon sch, but now no sch
so everyone stay at home i go parliament house
at 8am
great.
and today the opposition spoke, ok la
i screwed up in my speech
spoke too fast, got a bit worked up at times
and like rushing like mad towards the last part
but dunno la, some ppl say not bad, a lot of power
lol the worked up bit i guess, and i was shouting a bit cuz the mike didnt seem to work
and one said fluent.
wah so flattered.
but then some say can be improved, where it was an OK performance, average.

another lesson learnt
another experience gained
lets hope i can benefit from it
